Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Romania
Rodica Pop, Mongolia’s Honorary Consul in Romania, graduated from the University of Bucharest, the Faculty of Oriental Languages and the courses of the Mongolian National University, the Faculty of Mongolian Language and Civilization in Ulaanbaatar. She then graduated with a doctorate in France, obtaining her PhD at the Ecole Pratique de Hautes Etudes (EPHE), Sorbonne University in Paris. Her specialization is in religious anthropology.

The research fields are mainly the matrimonial alliance with the medieval Mongols, the marriage ritual with the Mongol ethnic groups in the 19th century, Mongolian and Siberian shamanism, the symbolism of colors and figures in the Altaic world.

Consul Pop is the former head of the Center for Oriental Studies "Mircea Eliade", presently associate professor at the University of Bucharest. Visiting Professor at EPHE (Paris) and National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), Paris. Since 1999, Mongolia’s Honorary Consul in Romania.
